 A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is an intelligent motor controller
that governs the speed and torque of an AC electric motor by
varying the frequency and voltage of its power supply. Beyond
simple speed adjustment, a VFD provides soft-start and soft-stop
capabilities (ramp-up/ramp-down control), which reduces mechanical
stress and inrush current, leading to significant energy savings
